2. Data processed on your iPhone
The app uses the camera, motion data and ARKit functions required to map and measure a course. This information is used to provide the functions requested by the user. CleaRound does not perform facial recognition or use this data for advertising.
Courses, fences, distances, exports and notes created in the app are stored locally on the device unless the user deliberately shares or exports them.
This course content remains local unless you deliberately share or export it. It is separate from the limited statistics sent to PostHog only after your consent, described below.
3. Apple subscriptions and RevenueCat
Apple processes payments and the information required for purchases under its own terms. CleaRound does not have access to payment-card details.
RevenueCat is used to verify CleaRound Pro entitlements, manage subscription status and restore purchases. Because CleaRound requires no account, the service uses an pseudonymous technical identifier and receives information about purchased products, transactions and subscription status. This data is necessary to provide the requested service.
RevenueCat operates separately from optional analytics. Refusing or withdrawing PostHog consent does not disable subscription management or purchase restoration. No RevenueCat → PostHog server integration is currently enabled.
4. Optional analytics with PostHog
We use PostHog Cloud EU to understand how CleaRound is used, improve onboarding and identify certain technical difficulties. The legal basis for this processing is your consent.
PostHog collects statistics only after you explicitly agree in the popup explaining the freemium model. You can continue without agreeing, without losing any functionality or changing your freemium/Pro entitlements. You can change your choice at any time in “About”. No events from before consent are replayed.
The data is pseudonymous, not fully anonymous: an installation identifier links events over time.
Events: app openings and returns, course-walk steps, calibration success/failure, first fence, FINISH, strategy, previews, export generation and sharing, use of the complimentary course, paywall displays, purchase/restoration outcomes and certain technical errors.
Limited properties: counts, durations, formats, outcomes, app version/build, operating system, device model, language and free/Pro access status.
No name, email, horse/competition name, photo, PDF content, course trace, GPS coordinates or individual distance measurement is sent to PostHog. There is no session recording, automatic interaction capture or IDFA. Geographic enrichment is disabled.
Withdrawing consent stops collection and deletes local PostHog storage. It does not automatically delete events already received on its servers. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
4 bis. Optional advertising measurement with Meta
Starting with version 1.0.1, CleaRound includes the Meta SDK to measure installations originating from advertising and whether they lead to a first course walk.
Meta advertising tracking requires your permission through the iOS “Allow Tracking” system prompt. If you decline, CleaRound does not initialize the Meta SDK or send its advertising events. Declining does not affect features, your free course walk or your subscription. This choice is separate from your optional PostHog analytics consent.
After permission is granted, Meta receives app activation, course-start and course-finish events, together with identifiers and technical information processed by its SDK, including the device advertising identifier and app and device information. This information is used for advertising attribution and measurement. CleaRound does not attach names, email addresses, horse or competition names, routes, photos, notes, GPS coordinates or PostHog/RevenueCat identifiers to these events. Automatic purchase logging is disabled.
You can change your permission in iOS tracking settings. The advertising-permission button in About opens the application settings. After permission is withdrawn, CleaRound stops sending these advertising events. Withdrawal does not automatically delete information already received by Meta.
Separately, CleaRound uses Apple’s SKAdNetwork aggregate attribution mechanism without an advertising identifier to support installation measurement. Results are subject to Apple’s rules and reporting delays.
Meta is an additional recipient for this optional measurement. Its processing, retention periods and international transfers are described in its privacy policy. For requests about information processed by CleaRound, contact contact@clearound-app.com.
5. Support
When you contact support, we process your email address, the content of your message and any technical information you choose to provide. It is used only to respond to your request and retained for the time needed to handle it and reasonably follow up.
6. Website
The presentation website does not use advertising cookies or profiling tools. The hosting provider may temporarily process technical security and operational logs.
PostHog is not installed on this website: the statistics described in this policy relate only to the app, after consent. Your website language choice may be stored locally in your browser. The getting-started video is available through an external link to YouTube. No YouTube player is loaded on this website. Following this link takes you to a third-party service governed by its own privacy policy.
7. Recipients and international transfers
Data is available only to people who need it to provide the service and to the relevant Apple, RevenueCat, email and hosting providers. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards set out in their contractual commitments and applicable law.
PostHog, Inc. receives optional analytics as a processing service provider. The PostHog Cloud EU service used by CleaRound is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. A data processing agreement (DPA) has been signed with PostHog. European hosting does not mean that no international transfers can occur; PostHog’s contractual framework provides safeguards for such transfers.
8. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection where those rights apply. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local supervisory authority. Email contact@clearound-app.com. Courses stored only on your device can be deleted in the app or by deleting the app, subject to your iPhone backups.
You may also request portability where this right applies and withdraw analytics consent at any time in “About”. To request access to or deletion of analytics data, email contact@clearound-app.com, including after withdrawing consent. Since events are pseudonymous and contain neither your name nor your email, we need to be able to identify the events relating to you. We may ask for additional information needed to locate them. If we cannot identify you in this data, we will let you know. Withdrawing consent does not automatically delete events already received.
9. Analytics retention and deletion
The retention period adopted by CleaRound for PostHog analytics events is one year from collection.
Withdrawing consent stops new collection and deletes local PostHog storage; it does not automatically delete events already received on the servers. You can request deletion by emailing contact@clearound-app.com under the conditions described above. PostHog’s technical deletion process may be asynchronous.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if CleaRound’s features or service providers change. The latest update date will appear at the top of this page.
